In 2025, the number of visitors to Georgia decreased by 1.6%

In 2025, the average monthly number of local visitors aged 15 and older on the territory of Georgia was determined as 1,332.6 thousand, by whom the average monthly number of visits made to the territory of the country amounted to 1,642.4 thousand units.

According to "Sakstat", the number of visitors decreased by 1.6 percent during the mentioned period, and the number of visits made by them is 0.2 percent higher than in 2024.

In 2025, the average monthly number of tourist-type visits made by Georgian resident visitors to the territory of Georgia was 700.0 thousand, which is 4.9 percent less than the figure of 2024.

The majority of visitors, 36.4 percent, belonged to the age group of 31-50 years, and the number of women was 56.5 percent of the total number of visitors.

According to the results of the survey, 36.8 percent of visitors to St. Tbilisi residents, 15.6 percent come from Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions, 9.3 percent NTI - on the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, and the rest of the regions are represented with relatively low shares.

In 2025, the majority of visits (52.3 percent) were made to visit friends/relatives.

During the reporting period, the largest number of visits were made in the Imereti region (an average of 364.9 thousand visits per month) and St. in Tbilisi (on average 357.0 thousand visits per month).

The volume of average monthly expenses incurred during visits in 2025 was determined at 297.7 million GEL, which is 0.8 percent less than the previous year. In addition, the average cost per visit decreased by 1.0 percent and equaled 181.3 GEL.
