Foreigners without permanent residence are prohibited from working as guides

Foreigners without a permanent residence permit cannot be employed as guides in Georgia, and a quota of 200 per year has been set for mountain, alpine and ski escort service providers for tourists.  

The aforementioned change is provided for by the "Rule of Issuing the Right to Work to Labor Immigrants and Self-Employed Foreigners", which was issued by the Government of Georgia.  

For information, the change in the rules of employment of foreigners in Georgia, of which the mentioned regulation is a part, enters into force on March 1 and defines the conditions, criteria, procedures and deadlines for granting the right to work to a foreigner who does not have a permanent residence permit in Georgia.
