ICAO Vision - Safety and "Green" Aviation until 2050
ICAO's strategic plan unites 193 member countries around a common goal: to achieve zero deaths and zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.
In 2025, ICAO introduced new risk categories for turbulence, system performance and runway operations. Cyber security has been fully integrated into the aviation agenda.
Within the framework of this initiative, infrastructure projects were implemented in 143 countries in 2025. From Africa to the Pacific region, new radars, air traffic control systems and weather forecasting technologies have been installed.
A monitoring system was launched that monitors aviation emissions from 154 countries (99% of global flights). Within the framework of the ACT-SAF program, more than 280 partners are working to introduce sustainable aviation fuels.
The 2025 Doha Declaration laid the foundation for "digital travel" — making the flight process easier and safer through biometric passports and data exchange systems.
The organization expanded Va program "Next Generation of Aviation Professionals", which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to train new personnel. Special attention is paid to the involvement of women and youth in aviation in partnership with UN Women.
Georgia actively cooperates with ICAO. By 2025, the country has successfully passed the safety audit (USAP), which confirms that the Georgian aviation system meets high international standards.
