The EU has abolished the need for online pre-registration

The European Union has launched a new digital border registration platform called the Entry/Exit System (EES) for citizens of non-EU countries traveling to the 29 countries of the Schengen area for a short-term visit.

Kutaisi International Airport disseminates the information.

According to their own information, stamping of passports is done completely electronically, and the new data recording procedure is integrated into the EES system.

"The European Union canceled the need for advance online registration for passengers and ensured that all necessary information is recorded at the border with the help of a special counter or a border guard," the information says.

The system was launched in October 2025 and will be fully implemented at the border of all 29 EU countries by April 10, 2026.
